Our Founder
Janet Youngblood attended Reed College in Portland, OR, as well as Stony Brook University and Teachers College Taiko Society at Columbia University in New York while completing her doctorate. With the help of Hiro Kurashima, Peter Brown, and many other friends, Janet performed with Manhattan Taiko for years before moving to Idaho Falls in 2010. As a taiko instructor, Janet focuses on taiko fundamentals and composition. Today, she has more than 25 years of Japanese drumming experience and enjoys nothing more than sharing her knowledge with others.
